Price lists tell you what a flat costs. They do not tell you what a week feels like there. Start with how you travel, then look at the neighbourhood.

Gulshan and Banani

Offices, embassies, restaurants and schools sit close together. Rents are high, and buildings are usually well managed.

Uttara

A planned suburb with wide roads and easy access to the airport and to the metro line. Good for families who want space.

Mirpur

A large, busy area with many price points and several metro stations. Check the specific lane, because conditions differ a lot from one street to the next.

Bashundhara R/A

A gated, planned residential area with private security and many newer buildings, close to Kuril and the eastern edge of the city.

Whatever you choose, visit at rush hour and after dark before you decide.
